biography
Formed between Nancy and Paris in 2018, ¿Who's The Cuban? is a Cuban psyche pop band with a free and mixed identity, combining offbeat pop, electric rock and Afro-Cuban grooves. From their first album Circo Circo (2019), the band has demonstrated a contagious stage energy and a desire to push musical boundaries.
It quickly reinvented itself with the arrival of two artists from the Latin scene: Pao Barreto (Colombia) and Dayron Ramirez Hernandez (Cuba). The septet then embarked on a series of tours in France (Cabaret Vert, Tempo Latino, Au Fil des Voix, etc.) and internationally (Canada, Cuba), while collaborating with Nancy Jazz Pulsations to create the ¿Who's The Cuban? Orchestra, a big band version of their repertoire (Circo Live, 2020).
In 2022, two EPs marked a more personal and daring turning point, ahead of the release of Pafata (2023), acclaimed by RFI Talents, FIP, Télérama and Radio Nova.
The group returns at the end of 2025 with two new singles that freely reinterpret traditional Cuban rhythms — the conga habanera and the nengón — in a contemporary and unique pop aesthetic, accompanied by music videos and visual creations. These tracks herald the release of a third studio album scheduled for 2027.
